Why Don't Arabs & Muslims Denounce Hamas?

As a Muslim-American, I ask this not out of anger – but out of heartbreak.
Across the Arab and Muslim world, many support Hamas out of a sense of loyalty to the Palestinian cause. But let’s be honest: how many have actually read Hamas’ charter? How many truly understand what this group believes, preaches, and does – not in the name of justice, but in the name of hatred?

Let me ask you five questions that no honest Muslim should ignore:
Do you know that Hamas leaders deliberately target civilians, in direct violation of Islamic teachings, international law, and basic human rights?
Do you know Hamas uses human shields by firing weapons from schools, hospitals, and mosques – turning sacred places into battlegrounds?
Do you know Hamas executes dissenters, silences journalists, and suppresses their own people?
Do you know Hamas openly calls for the annihilation of Israel and the murder of Jews, not just Israelis?
And if you do know all this, then why remain silent?
Silence is no longer an option.
I love Islam. I love justice. I love peace. I love truth. And because of that, I cannot and will not defend Hamas in any way, shape, or form. Their ideology is not just radical, it is evil. It distorts Islam into a weapon of vengeance. It betrays the very people it claims to protect.
Palestinians deserve dignity, freedom, and peace. But Hamas only offers martyrdom, hate, ruin, and the downfall of mankind.
To support Hamas while claiming to care about Palestinian lives is like supporting a pyromaniac while claiming to love the house he's burning down.
Let me be clear: Israel is not perfect. But no country is. What Israel is, however, is the only liberal democracy in the Middle East. It has Arab judges, Muslim Knesset members, and Muslim generals. It protects the rights of minorities. And it is under constant threat from a genocidal enemy that glorifies death more than life.
So I say this with a heavy heart, but with unshakable clarity: Being Muslim does not mean supporting Hamas. It means standing for life, for justice, and for peace – even if it means standing against those who speak in our name but act in hatred, violence, and murder.
To my fellow Arabs and Muslims: We must be the moral leaders our faith demands. Denounce Hamas. Speak the truth. Be courageous. Because if we remain bystanders to this evil, then we have abandoned our humanity, our faith, and ourselves.
May God give us the strength and courage to stand for what is morally right – especially when it is hard.
